Love fulfills all commandments
Then Jesus entred and passed through
So he ran ahead and climbed to into a sycamore tree to see him, for He was going to passby that way. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, ''Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house."
So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully.
But when they saw it, they all comlained, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.
The Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor: and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore him fourfold". And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he alsoo is a son of Abraham.
For the Son of Man has come to save that which is lost." -- Luke 10: 1-10.
Tax-collectors are generally rich. They have made themselves so by corrupt means. Being the sardar of tax-collectors, Zacchaeus was supposed to be very rich, most lying among the liars and most corrupt among the corrupt. He had a great desire to see Jesus. His wealth did not satsfy him. He wanted to satisfy himself by seeing the Lord. He sought him. He did not care for his standing in the society. He climbed a tree in the sight to see Jesus, because he was short. On seeing him and understanding his desire and effort, Jesus said he wanted to stay his house. People saw Zacchaeus and started murmuring. But Zacchaeus saw only the Lord. Y ou too see only the Lord. Dont think about what people say about your stature and wretched condition.
Zacchaeus opened his heart to the Word of God. Jesus should have preached repentance to save himself from hell and enter the
God created the heavens we look upto, the seas thst we look around, the earth we tread on, the birds of the sky, the fish in the sea and creeping things of the earth. He created man. Male and female He created and He loved them. God is love, He loves and also He wants to be loved.
Though one be an idol-worshipper like Abraham, cheat like Jacob, a harlot like Rahab, illicit woman like Tamar, tax-collector like Zacchaeus or leper, or lame, the Lord never disowns anybody who comes to Him. What does God expect of us except to walk humbly before Him and fear Him.
