Faith or love?

We read here about two women – a woman of Canaan in Mathew 15: 21-28 and a sinful woman in Luke 7: 36 - 50. I don’t say one is better than the other, but there is a difference in their acts.
Jesus Christ came preaching to the region of Sidon and Tyre. The Canaanites used to dwell there. A woman of Canaan came to Jesus because her daughter was demon-possessed. She came crying to Jesus, the disciples wanted Jesus to send her away, may be because she was a Canaanite. Jesus said to her, “I am only sent for Israel. … it is not good to take children’s bread and give it to the little dogs.” She accepted and said yes Lord, it is right, but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall off the table. Jesus surprised and said to those around I have not seen such a faith in whole Israel. Her faith has made her daughter get healed. Jesus honoured her faith.

Once Jesus was invited by a Pharisee to eat with him. A woman, who was a sinner, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, wept, washed his feet, wiped them, kissed them and anointed them with oil. The Pharisee spoke to himself, if this man (Jesus) is a real prophet he would have known who is touching him. Jesus said that her sins which are many are forgiven. So she loved him much.
The act of the first woman is one of faith and the second is love. Which is greater? By faith one received, the other by love gave her precious thing.
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but get everlasting life.
God will reward everybody according to our works.
